To Bartolomeo Colleoni, a legendary figure born in Solza near the Adda River at the end of the 15th century, this young Bergamo D.O.C. is dedicated.
Expanding the territory of the D.O.C. Valcalepio, the production area extends northward from the Orobie Mountains and eastward from Lake Iseo and the Oglio River in a predominantly foothill and hilly area.
This has made it possible to produce with native grape varieties excellent labels that have been successfully produced by local wineries for many years and now also awarded a DOC designation. There are fourteen types of wine included under the Terre del Colleoni DOC label:
– Still whites: Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Incrocio Manzoni, Moscato Giallo;
– Moscato Giallo Passito;
– Still reds: Schiava, Merlot, Marzemino, Cabernet, Franconia, Incrocio Terzi;
– Novello;
– Spumante: Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio and Incrocio Manzoni.
