Cespedosio mountain hut is located over 1,000 meters above sea level on the eastern slope of Monte Venturosa. This refuge is the ideal starting point for exploring the high peaks of the area, offering hikers breathtaking views and total immersion in nature.

 


Era locality

To reach the refuge, you have two options. If you prefer driving, you can take the SS470 state road through Valle Brembana. Along the way, you will pass by an impressive marble quarry, a landmark that will indicate you are on the right path. Continue following the signs, and shortly you will arrive at Cespedosio mountain hut. Alternatively, for a more adventurous and immersive experience, you can start on foot from the Church of Camerata Cornello. Park your car at the sports field near the church and begin the trail. The hike, which takes about an hour and a half, will lead you through enchanting landscapes up to the refuge.

The itinerary is particularly scenic and evocative, taking you to an altitude of over 1,400 meters with inclines not exceeding 10°. Along the way, you will pass through picturesque places like Era. This village, with its mountain homes and old-world atmosphere, will make you feel like you have stepped back in time, offering a glimpse of traditional life in the valley.

Follow Via Era, which gradually ascends and then turns right, becoming a charming agro-forestry-pastoral road at the edge of the forest and green pastures descending from Campelli hut. The road continues above the hut and exits the forest, allowing you to enjoy the green meadows, the blue sky, and the panoramic view now unfolding over the entire Brembana Valley, all wrapped in the rich scent of hay typical of the plateau. Continue with a slight ascent and, after one final hairpin bend, you will reach Campo hut, located at 1,440 meters above sea level, the highlight of this special Brembana hike.

For more experienced hikers, further adventures await. You can continue to Maffenoli hut, located at an altitude of 1,367 meters, with an additional 20 minutes of walking. Alternatively, you can follow trail 128, which will take you to Piazza Brembana, adding an extra challenge to your itinerary.
