To Colle della Maresana

To Colle della Maresana

Description

The route, entirely immersed in greenery, is loved by children who can walk and run freely. Proper footwear is required, and you need to be careful in some sections because of rocks. Overall, it is considered a short, moderately difficult route with a 15% incline.

The path through the greenery

Starting from Via Quintino Alto in Bergamo, the route quickly takes you between the parks of two beautiful private villas. The red and white flag with the number 533 marks the CAI trail, visible at the base of the initial staircase. Follow the path, which leads directly to the final goal: Colle della Maresana. Along the way, you will be surrounded by a peaceful landscape, perfect for admiring the views of the southern part of the city. As you ascend, the scenery becomes more and more spectacular, especially in spring when the rocks along the trail are adorned with the pink and yellow blooms of the Polygala.

Colle della Maresana, located beyond the northeastern edge of the city along the ridge marking the start of the Val Seriana, is a refuge for those who love peace and nature. Standing at 546 meters, Maresana is characterized by chestnut woods and offers breathtaking views of the lower city and the surrounding plains.
