Summer is the perfect season to reach the heights of the Orobie and discover how much you love the mountains. Here are some ideas for a holiday on the paths of the Orobie.

Exercise and bright sun await you, breathtaking starry skies, the fresh and pure air of the hills and high-altitude refuges ready to guarantee you hospitality. You will be in direct contact with the managers, hikers and inhabitants of the mountains, and you can taste the traditional local dishes.

A panoramic trek takes you from Valbondione to the crystal clear waters of Lake Barbellino and the Curò refuge. Perfect as a base for excursions, it is a fundamental junction of the Sentiero delle Orobie to the Albani, Coca or Tagliaferri peaks, passing by the nature path A.Curò.

.Reach the Gemelli lakes, in Branzi and find yourself suspended between the blue of the sky and the blue of the alpine lakes... without any thought except paying attention to where you take your next step. At the refuge with the same name, you will find Brignoli - an award-winning chef - ready to refresh you after the walk.

The mountains are also perfect for solitary, slow and meditative holidays. Walking to reach the summit, a metaphor for an inner journey, a time all to yourself to dedicate to rebalance stress and find peace and silence. Once you reach the refuge you will find those who have reached the top like you.

Located on a magnificent natural terrace, the Benigni refuge offers a breathtaking view of the Rhaetian Alps and Valtellina. On your way, the chances are you will meet whistling marmots and ibex and if you are lucky you can also spot some chamois or birds of prey in the area.

If you reach Tagliaferri, you are a true lover of the mountains. With its height of 2328m, it is the highest refuge in the Orobie. It is located in the Scalve Valley and for over 30 years it has been managed by Francesco, who named the refuge after his brother, who died among the glaciers of the Peruvian Andes in the 80s. There, 0km cuisine and a cellar stocked with herbal liqueurs and fine wine and whiskey labels await you.
