This fascinating trail with breathtaking views, which will take you to the Resegone Refuge at 1265 meters, is perfect for nature and history lovers, a hiking experience you will not easily forget.
The starting point is the picturesque village of Brumano.
Here you can park your car in the convenient parking lot located at the Church of San Bartolomeo, a place of great interest for Renaissance art and history enthusiasts.
Founded in 1567 and enlarged in 1800, although it is on Bergamo territory it conducts religious services in the Ambrosian rite. From the church, head to the left where the trail begins.
The first part of the path is paved, but soon turns into a dirt track.
After about 200 meters, you will notice that the slope increases, making the path a bit more challenging.
Continue at a leisurely pace, enjoying the scenery that opens up before you.
Along the trail, you will cross several narrow tongues of paved road.
Despite your fatigue, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the grayish Resegone rocks glimpsed through the vegetation and the high grassy pasture of Costa del Palio.
This pasture is known to be the natural watershed between Bergamo’s Imagna Valley and Lecco, a view definitely worth pausing for a few photos.
Continuing on the trail, you will reach a farmhouse, an excellent spot for a short stop.
After catching your breath, follow CAI path 13, which will take you through a dense forest.
This section is particularly fascinating, as this is where the first rivulets of the Imagna stream originate.
The trail continues for about 1.5 kilometers through steep switchbacks, but your fatigue will be rewarded when, after a short, gentler climb, you reach a clearing at altitude.
From here, Rifugio Resegone is now close by.
Once you arrive at the refuge, in Croci-Pradosdino.
,
you will find yourself in an ideal place to regain your strength.
The hut terrace offers unparalleled views of the valley below.
It is the perfect place to relax, enjoy a good meal and enjoy the company of other hikers.
