“Torment & Jealousy” is the title of a program full of contrasts and passion, expressed through the music of the 18th century. This program will be taken to prominent international settings in 2025, specifically to the prestigious Innsbruck Early Music Festival, and to Prague in the Collegium 1704 Season.
Conceived as a solo recital in which Margherita Maria Sala’s brilliant talent can stand out and excite listeners, this program features pages by composers such as Baldassarre Galuppi, Benedetto Marcello, Georg Leonardo Leo, Giovanni Antonio Ristori, and of course Antonio Vivaldi.
All these distinguished musicians composed intense and expressive music, aiming to express the passions of the human soul through their very special musical language, a characteristic that led this program to be a kaleidoscope of feelings with many different colors and shapes.
The program is enriched by fine instrumental music that inserted between the cantatas can serve as an introduction or commentary.

Program:
– Baldassarre Galuppi (1706-1785): Concerto à quattro in D major No. 3
– Baldassarre Galuppi (1706-1785): “La Gelosia” cantata à voce sola con istromenti
– Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739): Sinfonia from the cantata “Arianna Abbandonata” S.98
– Giovanni Antonio Ristori (1692-1753): “A quest ombre” Cantata con Istromenti per Contralto
– Leonardo Leo (1694-1744): Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in D minor L60
– Margherita Maria Sala: contralto
