Solo exhibition of Francesco Loliva: photographs highlight an intimate and sensitive approach to reality, where light and detail become tools to explore the beauty of existence.
Francesco Loliva’s solo exhibition, The Poetics of a Shot, opens Saturday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at Sofi Gallery.
The training of Francesco Loliva (1956) is related to the world of medicine, in which he graduated specializing in cardiology. Despite this, during his university years he began to approach the world of photography, discovering a passion for this art and composing his first shots. His natural inclination from the beginning was for photography related to travel and landscapes. In particular, his focus on landscapes stems from memories of his homeland, Puglia, which is rich in views and natural resources. His virtual masters have all been the greatest Italian and international photographers: he has been nourished by their works, trying to grasp their secrets. Since 2017 he has been participating in national and international group and solo exhibitions, including his first solo exhibition Puglia: from cities to landscape in Bergamo in 2018 and, among the latest, the group exhibitions Respiro d’artista at Sofi Gallery and Artist’s breath at Gallery Steiner in Vienna.
Francesco Loliva’s photographic poetics is characterized by an intimate and sensitive approach to reality, where light and detail become tools for exploring the beauty of existence and reliving the emotions aroused by it in the future. His images reveal an introspective vision, creating a deep connection between subject and viewer. Loliva aims to capture the essence of the moment, revealing the poetry hidden in the everyday and in the natural imperfection of the world around us, offering the viewer new food for thought.
