Born out of passion and passionately run, the Maslana Observatory is located in Valbondione at 1340 meters above sea level: an ideal vantage point if you want to admire the surrounding mountain peaks and lakes.
The Observatory is built with local materials on the remains of an old hut used by shepherds during mountain pastures: it has a photovoltaic system for electricity and a wood stove for heating.
The goal of this facility is to teach love and respect for the mountains: to do so, it organizes dedicated educational tours, with lessons that talk about botany, zoology, geology and hiking.
A unique opportunity to learn about the secrets guarded by territories with millions of years behind them.
The Observatory can accommodate up to 50 seated people and can be reached by following for a few stretches the dirt road that leads to the Curò refuge, or passing by the Maslana huts, after taking the path near the Enel cable car.
