This recent Controlled Denomination of Origin from Bergamo is dedicated to Bartolomeo Colleoni, a legendary character born in Solza, a town near the Adda river, at the end of the fourteenth century.
Expanding the Valcalepio DOC territory, the hilly production area lies between the Orobie Alps at the north and Lake Iseo and river Oglio at the east.
This has made it possible for local companies to successfully produce excellent wines with native vines for many years, eventually obtaining a Controlled Denomination of Origin denomination.
The Terre del Colleoni DOC label includes fourteen wine types:
– Still white wines: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Manzoni Crossing, Moscato Giallo;
– Moscato Giallo Passito wines;
– Still red wines: Schiava, Merlot, Marzemino, Cabernet, Franconia, Incrocio Terzi;
– Novello wines;
– Sparkling wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Incrocio Manzoni.
