Grumello Castle is a mansion of medieval origin in the heart of Valcalepio, between Bergamo and Lake Iseo. Originally a military fortress with watchtower, it was later the residence of the condottiere Bartolomeo Colleoni during the clashes between the Republic of Venice and the Duchy of Milan. It later passed between various lineages, including the Suardi and Del Carretto families, Princes Gonzaga of Vescovado. It was with these that Cabernet sauvignon, called Burdunì by the farmers, was introduced.
On weekends the winery opens by reservation only.
