The hall, located in the Upper Town, is named after the European-renowned Bergamo cellist Alfredo Piatti.
When you enter, look up immediately: the ceiling is richly decorated, with a gilded outline embellished with cherubs and frames and with a fresco of dancing figures in the center.
Over time, this hall has seen performances by illustrious musicians, such as Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Uto Ughi, and Salvatore Accardo, to name but a few.
After a closure that lasted from 1998 to 2003 for restoration, it has been returned to the city more beautiful than ever and continues to play a key role in the national and international concert scene: moreover, every year in November, it is home to the Alfredo Piatti International Violoncello Festival.
