The grape production area to make must suitable for IGT Sabbioneta includes the entire territory of the municipalities of Sabbioneta, Viadana and Commessaggio, all in the province of Mantua. The municipalities of Viadana and Sabbioneta also have DOC Lambrusco Mantovano, an indigenous grape variety of the area, but most of the grape varieties are all part of the Sabbioneta IGT designation.
IGT Sabbioneta is part of the Consortium Vini Mantovani, and IGT Sabbioneta Bianco (also in the Frizzante type) with the specification of one of the following grape varieties wants a minimum of 85% of one of the following grape varieties: Chardonnay, Cortese, Garganega, Malvasia bianca, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero (vinified in white), Riesling, Sauvignon. They may be supplemented by the missing 15% with white, nonaromatic grape varieties suitable for cultivation in Lombardy. The alcohol content is for all 10°.
Sabbioneta IGT Bianco has a pale yellow color, a delicate, pleasant aroma and a typical, harmonious flavor. It goes well with light fish dishes or appetizers of raw cold cuts that are not too heavy.
