Pertus is located is located at an elevation of 1193 and can be reached by numerous trails that ascend both one side and the other.
It is also called Passo degli Spagnoli (Spanish Pass) because Hispanic troops passed through this pass in 1528 on their way to liberate Lecco from enemy siege.
From the summit, the eye can be lost in a breathtaking panorama, following the crests of the peaks that distinguish the Lombardy Alps: from the Lecco peaks of Resegone, Grigne and Pizzo dei Tre Signori, to, on clear days, the peaks of Monte Rosa, famous for its east face, the one with the highest prominence in the Alps and the only one of Himalayan dimensions.
At the Forcella Alta, just below Mt. Treasure, is the PertusPond, enclosed by a fence, and nearby is the Alpini Chapel ‘G.
Costa’.
The plateau that houses the small body of water is ideal for relaxing, picnicking and enjoying the view.
But even in winter this place is a recommended destination!
You can go cross-country skiing there and enjoy enchanting scenery.
