The shrine stands at the foot of the hills that run from Bergamo to Sombreno and is preceded by a tree-lined avenue.
Surrounded by low, green hills, it is an ideal destination for a moment of recollection or an out-of-town excursion.
Tradition has it that it was Our Lady, who appeared to a farmer intent on work, manifested her wish that an oratory be built on this land.In the 18th century, the institute of the‘Romites of Charity‘ was born in the shrine and spread as charity in all material and spiritual forms, including to needy priests.
The feast of the shrine is celebrated on the day of the Apparition that occurred on April 28, and with special solemnity, the Assumption is celebrated on August 15.
