On the occasion of Bergamo Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023, La Via delle Sorelle was inaugurated, a path connecting the two cities through a route of about 130 km. A unique opportunity to discover the natural, historical and cultural beauty of the area, passing through parks, villages, vineyards and places of artistic interest.
The itinerary can be traveled on foot as well as by bicycle. It offers stages that combine the discovery of local heritage with food and wine experiences and moments of reflection surrounded by nature. It is an invitation to rediscover the link between man and land, celebrating culture and sustainability in a slow journey.
Along the Way you will find a number of art installations that can only be reached on foot, inspired by the values of the Way: beauty, sustainability and a strong connection to the land.
Discover “Al tuo passo,” Claudia Losi’s coti stones, small ogival sculptures with evocative messages and images, embedded in the pavement of the path; “L’Incontro” in the Park of the Hills, rotating steel totems, on which David Reimondo, the author has engraved coined messages in a symbolic language, or Laura Renna’s “Let’s Intess the Path,” handmade textile installations that prop up the path, reuse artifacts made for the great 2023 event, “50 MILES – TOGETHER IN THE HUMAN CHAIN.” You’ll find more along the way.
Choose whether to start from Brescia and arrive in Bergamo or vice versa, you will walk the six stages with the variations that are most congenial to you or choose to do only part of the route. Along the way you will find affiliated accommodations where you can sleep and numerous places to visit for a complete experience of the territory you pass through.
