Unforgettable parades with the Duchy of Piazza Pontida and folk groups from around the world
Ready for the party? On March 23rd, you can watch the parade of colorful floats, preceded by the traditional Rasgamènt de la Ègia (The Burning of the Old Woman), a puppet that embodies evil and is burned every year to defeat it.
The weekend will be full of events for you and your family, all about lightheartedness and fun.
On Saturday evening, in the evocative setting of Piazza Matteotti, an extraordinary performance by folk groups awaits you, joyfully celebrating the traditions of Italian regions and distant countries.
Right after, you’ll witness the conclusion of the tenth edition of a truly unique contest, La Ègia piö bèla (The Most Beautiful Old Woman), followed by the unmissable and cathartic Burning of the Old Woman.
On Sunday afternoon, the float parade will take place, crossing the city center to reach Piazza Pontida and via Broseta.
In addition to local groups, you will admire delegations from many cities in northern and central Italy.
