You will also stop at iconic places in the city, those typically frequented by the people of Bergamo, and taste the best specialties of Bergamo.
Get ready for a day full of flavor! There will be at least four gastronomic stops!
Tastings depend on the season, but we’ll leave you with a list of what you might taste during the tour:
Aperitivo with glass of Valcalepio – slices of toasted bread topped with local ingredients along with a glass of red Valcalepio wine, Bergamo’s DOC, produced in the area next to Lake Iseo.
Casoncelli – the typical first course par excellence. It is a pasta filled with Parmesan cheese and meat topped with crispy bacon, butter and sage.
Foiade – another traditional first course, usually accompanied by a mushroom sauce, sometimes found with meat sauce or cheese sauce.
Polenta with lard and cheese – a representative dish of Bergamo tradition made from cornmeal. Polenta is served with slices of lard that melt in the mouth or with the famous and tasty cheeses of the Bergamo valleys.
Toasted bread with Taleggio – a rustic loaf garnished with tasty Taleggio DOP and caramelized onions.
Stracciatella ice cream – milk and cream with dark chocolate chips: a flavor loved by all, invented right in Bergamo in the 1960s: you’ll visit the very ice cream shop that gave birth to this exceptional delicacy.
Espresso coffee – a good espresso is the traditional and indispensable conclusion to any self-respecting Italian meal.
