The church of San Vittore is located in the town of Calcio, a village with a history dating back thousands of years that lies on the plains along the banks of the Oglio River.
It is an imposing piece of architecture: in size it is the second largest church in Lombardy, after Milan Cathedral.
Of fairly recent construction, dating in fact from the 18th century and completed only in 1880, it features a grand facade and a splendid dome, adorned with precious stucco statues depicting the apostles.
The interior decorated in the late 1800s and early 1900s holds valuable paintings by Enea Salmeggia and relevant works from the 17th and 18th centuries.
