From mid-September, the world-renowned artist Marina Abramović brings her exhibition Between breath and fire to Bergamo, curated by Karol Winiarczyk and held at the cultural centre that has risen from the ashes of the former Gres of San Bernardino.
The exhibition explores the themes of greatness, solitude, and the fragility of the human condition, starting with the cinematic installation Seven Deaths, a tribute to opera singer Maria Callas. The journey includes 30 historical and recent works by the artist and extends to the outdoor areas of gres art 671 with the sound installation Tree (Belgrade, 1972). An immersive experience in the world of one of the most influential artists of our time!
The artist herself will attend the opening with a talk on performance art, open to all.
Vernissage: 14 September, 11:30 AM, with the talk Performance Art.
A talk by and with Marina Abramović, open to the public and bookable until seats are sold out. A unique opportunity to meet the artist and discover the evolution of performance art.
