Marina Abramović in Bergamo!
With the exhibition Between Fire and Breath

Come and discover the unmistakable style of Marina Abramović, the Serbian artist who, for fifty years, has shocked and captivated the art world with her extreme performances.

Scheduled from 14th September to 16th February 2025, Between Fire and Breath showcases more than thirty historic and modern works by Marina, set in an immersive exhibition that harmonises with the cultural hub Gres art 671, the former Gres factory of San Bernardino.

The artist – who will attend the inauguration on 14 September – is internationally known as the "grandmother of performance art" for her extraordinary performances, often at the edge of physical danger.
Through her exhibition, you will explore the themes of human greatness, solitude, and transience. Dozens of works are on display, including in the outdoor spaces of Gres art 671, where the sound installation Tree stands out.
The centrepiece of the retrospective can be considered the cinematic work Seven Deaths, a tribute to the opera singer Maria Callas. An immersive experience awaits you in the world of one of today's most influential artists!
