Departure from Riva di Solto

Your journey begins in Riva di Solto, a picturesque village overlooking Lake Iseo, an enchanting place where the blue waters blend with the green of the surrounding hills.
To get to Riva di Solto, you can choose from several means of transportation.
If you arrive by car, you can park at the 30-step parking lot or at the via Ronchi parking lot.
If you prefer public transportation, you will find the boat dock and C40b bus stop in the center of town, convenient for reaching the starting point of your route.
From Via Ronchi, where the trail begins, the road immediately turns into a paved climb that leads you to the beginning of the dirt path.
Only 300 meters from the start, the path enters among centuries-old olive trees and a bucolic landscape that will prepare you for the next part of the walk.
As you advance, you will find yourself lapping Solto Collina, a vantage point from which you can already begin to catch a glimpse of your destination.

Toward the Giant Bench

Continuing on the trail, you will find a sign that will guide you to the famous giant bench.
In just 300 meters, the trail leads you back into the forest, where the shade of the vegetation will accompany you as you climb.
As you gain elevation, the panorama will open up before your eyes.
On the left side of the path, you will be able to admire Lake Iseo and, with a little attention, spot the giant blue-green bench no.
53, created by US designer Chris Bangle.

Arriving at the giant bench, you will be confronted with a breathtaking sight.
As you climb the bench, you will have an unparalleled panoramic view of Lake Iseo.
You’ll be able to admire, to the north, the Oglio River spilling into the Sebino between Costa Volpino and Pisogne, and to the east, the majestic peak of the Corna Trentapassi, which reaches 1,244 meters above sea level.
The bench is a coveted spot not only for the spectacular view it offers but also for the souvenir photos that everyone loves to take.

The return journey and CAI trail 567

For the return trip, you will follow trail 567, which is surrounded by greenery and takes you all the way back to Fonteno.
The landscape changes significantly as you head back toward the center of town.
Along the way, you will pass through areas of historical and religious interest, including the Parish of Saints Faustino and Giovita.
Following the trail, you will arrive at kilometer 5.7 where you will find the sign for the Cai 567 trail that will take you toward the descent to Xino.

Continuing on, the trail passes through stretches of forest and rural landscapes.
At the eighth kilometer, you will face a steep descent that will finally bring you back to your starting point in Riva di Solto, thus completing your route immersed in the nature and beauty of the Bergamo area.
