**Castello di Grumello** is a medieval residence located in the heart of **Valcalepio**, between **Bergamo** and **Lake Iseo**. Originally a military fortress with a watchtower, it later became the residence of the condottiero **Bartolomeo Colleoni** during the conflicts between the **Republic of Venice** and the **Duchy of Milan**. The castle was later owned by several noble families, including the **Suardi**, the **Del Carretto**, and the **Gonzaga Princes of Vescovado**. It was under the Gonzaga family that the **Cabernet Sauvignon** grape was introduced, locally known as **Burdunì** by the farmers.
The winery is open on weekends by reservation only.
