The “Puppets in Città Alta” festival begins: the Baraca & Boratì company on stage with a great classic from the Bergamo tradition, starring Gioppino in the Venetian city.
Puppets are returning to the city’s historic walls thanks to the “Puppets in Città Alta” show, which from April to October will enliven the Fondaco del Sale, a charming location located a few steps from Piazza Vecchia. The inauguration is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, with the show “Gioppino a Venezia in cerca di fortuna,” a classic of the Bergamasque tradition, offered in a double repetition at 3 and 4:30 p.m.
It tells the story of Gioppino, a witty and likeable protagonist of the Bergamasque puppet-making tradition, who is convinced by his father, Bortolo Zuccalunga, to leave his family and fiancée Margì to go to Venice in search of fortune.
