Not-to-be-missed event featuring compositions specially written and designed for this particular duo, as well as well-known pieces for solo organ and solo sax.
At the Shrine of the B.V.M. of Lourdes in Chignolo d’Isola, concert with original music for saxophone and organ, marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Corpo Musicale Sant’Eurosia of Chignolo d’Isola.
The selected concert proposal aims to enhance the affinities and potentialities of the two instruments through original compositions by Denis Bédard, Andre Lamproye, and Guy de Lioncourt specially written and conceived for this particular duo, as well as well-known compositions for solo organ and solo sax. The protagonists of this particular program will be Francesco Rainò Dambrosio on alto and soprano sax with Elena Strina on organ.
Francesco Rainò Dambrosio began the study of Music at a young age, continuing with the study of Saxophone at the “P. Secco Suardo” music high school in Bergamo, where he obtained his high school diploma with top marks. He obtained in 2018 the 1st level Academic Diploma at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan with 110/110; in 2020, always at the same institution, he also obtained the 2nd level Academic Diploma with 110 and Praise always under the guidance of M° Mario Marzi. Parallel to his instrumental studies, he combines the study of composition and conducting. He has actively attended numerous Masterclasses with distinguished saxophonists and over the years has been the winner of numerous national and international competitions. Also active in Jazz and Pop, he carries out an intense live activity in Italy and abroad, also participating in television and radio programs. Since 2018 he has been deputy music director of the Sant’Eurosia music corps in Chignolo d’Isola, while since 2020 he has been artistic and music director of the Urgnano music corps.
Elena Strina began her musical studies at the age of 7 playing the piano. In 2012 she completed the F. Chopin Secondary School of Music in Nowy Targ (Poland) with honors. He continued his organ studies in Krakow (Poland) in the Faculty of Church Music at the Interacademic Institute of Sacred Music. He has attended numerous organ interpretation masterclasses in Italy and Poland including in 2014 the masterclass on pre-baroque and baroque organ music on the historic Krzeszow organ with Lorenzo Ghielmi. In Bergamo, he participated in the masterclass given by Maestro Ben van Oosten on French symphonic organ literature, holding a related concert in the cathedral of Bergamo Alta. She also participated in masterclasses pertaining to English organ music given by Richard Overill. She has performed in concerts and organ recitals in Poland, England and Italy. In July 2020 she completes the Biennium of Organ with maestro Simone Vebber at the Conservatorio Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo. She regularly plays the monumental Serassi 1798 organ of the provostry of SS. Nazario and Celso martyrs in Urgnano.
