The church, located in the center of Ardesio, was built to commemorate the miracle that occurred on June 23, 1607, when the Virgin appeared to two little girls.
The prodigy was renewed and a canonical process began: at the site of the apparition the people of Ardesio then built a church.
Embellishments and renovations were made to the primitive little church until the present splendid shrine, to which pilgrims also come in prayer from other provinces.
