In 2014, the 100th anniversary of this power plant was celebrated!
In fact, its construction was completed in 1914: for the time, the Esterle was a state-of-the-art hydroelectric power plant, capable of producing three times the electricity of its pre-existing companions.
Innovative was also the attention to aesthetic details: look at it closely (we recommend you do this during a pleasant excursion on the bicycle path that runs along the Adda), thanks to the floral decorations and Gothic windows, doesn’t it look like a country residence of a 15th-century nobleman?
The attention to detail that distinguishes this beautiful building has ensured that not only is its aesthetic appearance still current and impressive, but its production side is also active, with the original machines still in perfect working order!
