Located inside the Basilica of San Martino in Treviglio, which originated in the 5th century and was enlarged over time.
The Polyptych dates from the period between the late 15th and early 16th centuries, painted by Bernardino Butinone and Bernardo Zenale.
Its excellent preservation is due to chance: it was moved from above the altar to its feet, and the dimness of this new position preserved it.
The wooden altarpiece is painted with a faux porch with Saints and Saints facing it; in the center is St. Martin giving his cloak to a poor man.
You can recognize Gothic elements in the abundant use of golds and Renaissance ones in the composition of the figures-a peculiar but very successful combination!
