The tower of Clusone’s town hall holds a beautiful surprise: in the midst of a quiet town in the Seriana Valley, there is in fact a clock that has something incredible.
This mechanical marvel still functions perfectly today thanks to its original parts, and that is no small feat when you consider that it was designed by local mathematician Pietro Fanzago in 1583!
Its dial will amaze you, and not only because of the fine decorations.
In fact, the outer circle is divided into 24 parts instead of the classic 12, and the hands turn in a…counterclockwise direction!
But the special features do not end there.
In fact, by looking at it closely, you will be able to read indications of the zodiac sign, the day, the month, the phases of the moon and sun, and even the length of the hours of light and darkness.
