Alpine Museum - Colere

From an intuition of the Alpine group of Colere comes to life an important piece that enters the heart of the history…

Description

There is nothing more engaging and humanly effective than to bring people to life through the continual search for everything that belonged to them with the express purpose of displaying it and thus transferring their history into time.

This is what was done by the great Alpine heart of Colere, which, on April 25, 2015, officially opened its Museum (housed in the group’s headquarters) and a stele dedicated to the memory of the fallen of every war.

All of this was at the conclusion of a long, unceasing and extremely patient research effort involving the entire population, which, urged to do so, made available perhaps the most cherished possessions…

Thus letters, memoirs, images and photographs, documents, weapons and ammunition, radio transmitters, military uniforms, typical clothing of the alpine corps and objects habitually used by those who were at the front have found lodging in the rooms of the Museum, which boasts the praiseworthy merit of having included these objects in appropriate reconstructions: two examples above all the setting up of a trench and field infirmary.

Each piece on display at the Alpine Museum is accompanied by a detailed fact sheet that makes it understandable, especially in use, to visitors and neatly placed in thematic sections.

If what has been collected so far seems remarkable, in variety and number of “finds,” the alpine group of Colere is still looking for anything that could be included in the exhibit in the future.

Thus, the activity of collecting what might still be stored in drawers and attics continues… alpine hats, medals, documents even of discharge, military accessories or certificates of merit.

All of the material could be entirely given away or just loaned to the Museum, which will surely take good care of it!!!
