A fairy tale world built around the visionary work of a young student at the Carrara Academy.
Giosué Meli, in 1840, enraptured by the beauty of Via Costa in Luzzana, sculpted an enormous and evocative figure along the staircase that was inspired by the gigantism of Michelangelo and Gianbologna’s Bella Maniera.
All around, you’ll find steep slopes, rushing streams and delightful little lakes with small clear waterfalls that make up Giant Park.
Walk along the dense web of footbridges and trails that wind around the Bragazzo Creek and you will be treated to unprecedented glimpses of landscapes still untouched by man.
But there is an aura of mystery around the Meli sculpture: does it represent the Giant supporting the mountain or a deposed Christ?
Visit the Park and try to answer this question.
