In Predore, on Lake Iseo, 5 km from Sarnico and 35 km from Bergamo, you can visit the baths of the Villa dei Noni, an ancient Roman villa.
The building arranged over an area of about 15000 sq. m. extended in a north-south direction from the foot of the mountain to the shore of the lake, and the villa, inhabited from 1 B.C. to 4 A.D. by the family of consul and senator Marcus Nonius Arrio Muciano, is known for its thermal baths (built between the 2nd and 3rd centuries).
Today, the baths area can be visited, and after the illustrative panels, an antiquarium has been set up to overlook the remains and follow the path that traces the development of the baths.
Noteworthy among the exhibits in the antiquarium is a brick with one face covered with various graffiti, representing alphabetical letters, numbers and signs that are not well interpreted, including an inscription referable to a composition in which the god Neptune is mentioned, associated with the presence of rivers and lakes.
