A gentle restoration has left intact the colors and atmosphere of the building, perfectly immersed in the surrounding nature.
The light-colored stone walls compose a simple and sincere architecture, two qualities that harken back to the life led by the Benedictine nuns, the nuns who for centuries inhabited this building between religious meditation and caring for the beautiful nature of the Bergamo hills.
The complex has now become home to the protected area of the Colli di Bergamo Park, reconfirming its vocation for landscape protection and inviting you to take pleasant hikes in the surrounding woods, crisscrossed by a dense network of pretty trails.
These woods have been and remain an unspoiled place so much so that in the Middle Ages the people of Bergamo decided to take water from here to supply Città Alta through the ingenious Acquedotto dei Vasi.
Unfortunately, only a few traces of this interesting work are visible today, which he thinks, made the water run some uphill stretches without the aid of any mechanical means!
Not to be missed:
The former monastery is home to several events that weave together art, nature and sustainability, the most important being the Park Fair held annually in May.
