450 m long, with 109 m of elevation gain and 265 steps, it has been used since the 1400s to reach vegetable gardens and vineyards. The name comes from a spring, mentioned as early as the 11th century, located in the area cultivated with broli (i.e., vegetable gardens and orchards).
After the first section, it continues steeply toward Borgo Canale, which it reaches first by branching off into the two ramps of Fontanabrolo and Ortolani, then via Vicolo dei Gradini.
