Bergamo Earns Its First Gold Medal as the Best Province for Quality of Life
Bergamo claims the top spot in the quality-of-life rankings, according to Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy’s leading economic and financial newspaper, known for its analysis and commentary on Italian and global economic trends.
The city ranks first in the nationwide evaluation of well-being across Italian territories. The ranking is based on 90 indicators spanning diverse thematic areas, including consumption, employment, environment, safety, education, healthcare, justice, culture, and leisure.
Bergamo’s identity is evolving, becoming softer and more multidimensional. No longer just a hub for industry and manufacturing, the province is now a dynamic blend of culture, tourism, sports, health, and safety. It’s a vibrant territory, increasingly focused on sustainability, innovation, and openness to change, featuring one of Italy’s top airports and a cutting-edge university hub.
