The production area where the musts suitable for IGT Sabbioneta are produced includes the municipalities of Sabbioneta, Viadana and Commessaggio, all located in the province of Mantua. Lambrusco Mantovano DOC grape variety is also native to the municipalities of Viadana and Sabbioneta, but most vines fall under the Sabbioneta IGT category.
IGT Sabbioneta is part of Vini Mantovani consortium. IGT Sabbioneta White wine (also available in the Sparkling type) must be obtained from at least 85% of one of the following grapes: Chardonnay, Cortese, Garganega, Malvasia Bianca, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir (with white vinification), Riesling or Sauvignon. The remaining 15% can be accounted for by non-aromatic white grape varieties suitable for cultivation in Lombardy. Alcohol content is always 10°.
Sabbioneta IGT White wine has a pale yellow color. Its pleasantly delicate scent is accompanied by a distinctive, harmonious taste. Food pairings include fish dishes or cured meat starters, provided they are quite light.
